This week I got to assist a friend who is in Korea in getting his household goods packed and shipped. On Monday one company arrived and packed one crate for shipment to Korea. Today I met with a different moving company for his household storage.
I got to see first hand the difference in these two moving companies. On Monday although not everything was being shipped, the two guys did a outstanding job and I would gladly recommend this company to anyone who ask.
Today when the truck arrived there was a crew of 3. Before to long, this dropped to only 2 packers. They called for another crew to come and help as they were not moving along at a great pace. Once the second crew arrived with 2 additional people, one of the original members decided it was time to leave and took the truck from the second crew.. What..... YES.. took their truck and left.
Now we have another crew called in to get the job done. By the end of the day, the house was packed and loaded. We still had 7 of the total 9 members of three crews. After a not so great start of the day, things did however pick up and the mission was complete. I was truly amazed at the events of the day and this makes me wonder... Do you really know who is packing up your home ?
Even if you are moving on the governments dime, I think it is best to check out the company assisting you with your move. In this case, I did speak to management and from this company.
Something to keep in mind when you have a moving company packing... There are things they will not 
pack, move or store.
- Candles
- Liquids
- Ammo
- Matches
- MRE's ( Have heaters in them )
Another thing to keep in mind...Drain fluids from
- Lawn Mowers
- Weedeaters
- Blowers
- 4 wheelers
- Motor cycles
Be sure to go over your packing list and get a copy as well. This will show all things they have packed. Each box will be marked where it came from and what is in it. They will also place a inventory sticker and log it on their sheet. This is how you will check to see all your things are there at your destination.

Moving is such a royal pain that you better have hired good movers. I once got a partial refund from a company because they promised me all their movers wore company uniforms. What showed up was some punk kid pulling a t-shirt over his head as he plowed out of his car, which he parked on my lawn. The day went downhill from there.

Elizabeth: I guess there are both pros and cons with hiring a moving company.
There are certainly good moving companies and those that are not so good.

It would strange to have some one pack all your things and move them. I have clients do this all the time but I have been in the same house over 20years.
Elizabeth: After 20 years in one home.. I'd be hiring a moving company... lol
