Coming Soon - The Clarksville Marina - Mile Marker 172.2 - Downtown Clarksville, Tennessee

The buzz has been in the air now for months about the new Clarksville Marina at Fairgrounds Park. The ground breaking ceremony has taken place and the earth has begun to move. Driving past what was once know as Fairgrounds Park will never look the same again. The area is gated with police security and the signs say: Park is CLOSED to the public.

Yesterday I took a drive down to see how the progress is coming along. What used to be the vacant lot once belonging to the North Tennessee State Fair Inc. is now huge mounds of dirt and the former Clarksville Jaycee's building has been turned into what appears to be a storage building.

From the corner of Riverside Drive to Zink Plant Road, the landscape has forever changed as construction for the Clarksville Marina takes place. On March 26, 2009 the Clarksville Marina Unveiling took place at the Riverview Inn Ballroom. The estimated cost for the Clarksville Marina alone is $8Million to $9Million.

We are still many months away from seeing the complete project along the Cumberland River here in Clarksville, Tennessee. When this project is completed the new Clarksville Marina will have a mixture of boat slips available.  If you are interested in a boat slipat the Clarksville Marina, you can reserve yours today as Greg Batts is looking at the mixture of slips that may be needed at Clarksville Marina located at 172.2 mile marker on the Cumberland River. The Marina is expected to have approx 221 boat slips available.

Certainly a crowing event for the great city of Clarksville.  I can't wait to see what the slip prices will be.  What a convenience for those like us who are busy to have the boat ready to go when we are ready.

Michael: Clarksville is growing leaps and bounds..

Tim: This is great if you have a boat... Maybe I need to buy one. I head you may be able to use the $8,000 Tax Credit... Hmmmm Would have to verify :)

well , i just wonder if all parents in clarksville would rather have a marina ,,,which will be used mostly by adults} or would rather the mayor built them {the children of clarksville } a park that is not all clustered together ,like the one at mcgregor park,,,you cant take you kids there on a nice day to have fun because there is so many people there trying to fit into ONE SMALL AREA TO PLAY ,,,,NOT TO MENTION THE SAFTY OF THEM TRYING TO GET ON THE SAME THING ,,,,,DUH   ,,,,the thing i think is if it dont make the mayor money ,,,,the mayor dont do it ..granted a big nice park would cost $$$$$ but ,,,you would have done something for the parents to do with thier children on a nice sunny or not sunny day,,,,, but again it will not MAKE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$            GO FIGURE
